The government has decided to investigate the issues raised by an entrepreneur from Ilam, Prem Prasad Acharya, who died on Wednesday morning after self-immolation at New Baneshwor on Tuesday.
The Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to probe the agenda raised by entrepreneur Acharya and take action after the conclusion of the probe, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Rabi Lamichhane. “Prem Acharya who self-immolated on Tuesday raised serious issues including that he was meted out injustice from various places,” Home Minister Lamichhane said, adding, “Home Ministry will intensify investigation and brings forth facts on it.”
He however said it was not necessary to form an investigation committee. If needed, even a committee could be formed.
Acharya, an entrepreneur from Ilam, had self-burnt in broad daylight at New Baneshwor, close to the parliament building. He was rescued and taken to Burn Hospital, Kirtipur but he breathed his last during treatment at 5:00 am today.
Before committing the suicidal act, Acharya had posted a long note on Facebook explaining the hurdles and difficulties he faced during entrepreneurship in life.
