Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has taken information from the Chief Ministers of the two states and the Chief District Officers of the 12 districts about the COVID status of the people entering through the border.
According to Home Minister's Press Coordinator Madhusudhan Bhattarai, the Home Minister had telephoned Lumbini and Madhes Chief Ministers and Chief District Officers of different districts. He also briefed the Chief District Officers of Kailali, Rupandehi, Banke, Arghakhanchi, Kanchanpur, Bara, Parsa, Morang, Jhapa, Saptari, Kapilvastu, and Nawalparasi West about the efforts being made to protect the citizens from the cold weather and COVID infection.
Chief District Officer of Bara, Krishna Bahadur Katwal, said that Minister Khand had taken information about the antigen test in the border area, the condition of the health service center and the efforts being made to save the people from the cold wave.
He said, "The minister has directed to tighten the checkpoints at the border, keep the holding center ready and distribute firewood and blankets as well."
Home Minister was also concerned about the arrangement to keep the citizens entering the border who tested COVID positive in isolation and to take those who want to follow home isolation by adopting safety protocols.
Chief District Officer of Morang, Kashiraj Dahal informed that arrangements have been made to take the infected people to their homes easily, to increase the antigen test, and to bring the holding center into operation.
According to Press Coordinator Bhattarai, Home Minister had a telephone conversation with Jhapa Chief District Officer Chhavilal Rijal about the condition of Covid-19 in the district as well.
