The isolation wards built-in Rukum (East) for treating the COVID-19 patients have been vacant lately, thanks to the decreasing cases of COVID-19 in the locality.
The isolation wards at Bhume Rural Municipality and Hospital at Rukum (East) have been unoccupied since August 16 as all the COVID-19 infected ones being treated in isolation wards have returned home upon full recovery, said Health Office’s Nil Prasad Giri.
Giri shared that some isolation wards were handed over to local health facilities upon after no new cases of COVID-19 were reported there. The isolation ward at Puthauttarganga Rural Municipality in the district has remained vacant for a long.
There are currently 25 active cases of COVID-19 in the district. All the infected ones were receiving treatment at home isolation, informed Giri.
Since the second wave of COVID-19, 541 coronavirus cases were reported in the district and 13 fatalities.
According to him, Rukum (East) is witnessing a decline in the COVID-19 cases lately.
