The District Administration Office (DAO) in Kathmandu has decided to allow the operation of middle-distance and long-distance public transportation from Saturday.
The DAO has issued a notice today stating that the decision to allow the operation of middle-distance and long-distance public transportation had been taken keeping in mind the need for candidates to travel from various places for the Public Service Commission examinations. It has also mentioned the decision was taken so as to facilitate students who have to attend university examinations.
The notice issued by the District Administration Office also mentions that the decision to allow middle-distance and long-distance vehicles to resume operations was taken pursuant to a decision taken by the Council of Ministers on July 19.
The DAO has also directed the public transport operators and passengers to adopt all necessary health safety precautions. It has further urged the passengers travelling on long-distance routes to mandatorily purchase their tickets from the authorised booking counters.
