A person died due to an attack by a wild elephant at Khairi, Geruwa on the banks of the Karnali river in Bardiya district. The deceased is 35-year-old Bechan Dahit, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Hem Bahadur Shahi, said.
The elephant attacked Dahit on Saturday night when he was on his way home, one kilometer from Kothiyaghat of Rajapur Municipality-10. However, Dahit's body was found this morning, Shahi said.
