Man involved in hundi arrested in Parsa

Police in Parsa district on Friday morning arrested a man involving in hundi business from Birgunj Metropolitan City-6. The police also seized Rs 3 lakh from his possession.

The arrested has been identified as Amit Kumar Gupta, a 39-year-old, resident of the same metropolitan city in Parsa district.

Gupta was coming to Nepal from India on a motorcycle with vehicle registration number NA 28 PA 5758. He had concealed the money in the clothes he was wearing. Security personnel deployed from the Parsa-based District Police Office (DPO) nabbed him in possession of the money during a routine vehicle check from Inarwa in Birgunj Metropolis-16.

He has been charged under Banking and Financial Institutions Act (2073) and further investigation into the matter is underway, informed DPO, Parsa.
