Minister Thapa directs officials to use technology to provide better service

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Nain Kala Thapa has directed the agencies under the Information Ministry to utilise the available technology to provide more efficient and effective services.

The newly appointed minister after inspecting the offices of Nepal Television, Nepal Telecom, Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Press Council, Department of Information and Broadcasting, and Minimum Wage Fixation Committee directed the concerned authorities to make their services more effective.

Issuing a statement, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has directed the heads of all the line agencies to take more responsibility so as to provide better services and to meet the targets set by the ministry.

After being appointed the minister, Thapa has been inspecting the line agencies on a regular basis since June 13. She has mentioned that since the information and technology sector is a vital cog in the country’s development efforts all efforts must be made by all concerned to make sure that services provided under the ministry are efficient.
