The monsoon is to remain active throughout the country next week. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said the monsoon will become active this coming week as well since the monsoon low-pressure system is close to the Tarai region.

Rainfall will take place in most of the places of the country next week, said Senior Meteorologist at the Department Barun Poudel.

"The rainfall will not be confined to the same place continuously but will take place at separate places on different days. Rainfall will not occur continuously. There will be sunshine for some time and rainfall for some time alternatively," he added.

Likewise, the Department has urged for adopting the necessary precaution as there is a risk of occurrence of landslides and mudslides in the hilly region as well as the transport sector becoming affected due to the possible rise in the water level in the big and small rivers and rivulets.

The weather will be generally to completely cloudy in most of the places of the country on Sunday with chances of light to moderate rainfall in many places. Likewise, heavy rainfall is likely in few places of Province 1, 2, Bagmati province, Lumbini province, and Gandaki province.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division's weather update shows the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was 21.0 degrees Celsius and the highest 29.4 degrees Celsius today. Similarly, Jumla recorded the lowest minimum temperature 16.5 degrees Celsius while Dipayal recorded the highest maximum temperature 32.2 degrees Celsius over the last 24 hours.
