The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has promised to ensure its ground handling service is further robust and effective making its standards at par the international level.
The NAC has measured its ground handling services, aligning it with the international standards after carrying out its audit since 2016.
Issuing a press statement on Thursday, NAC Spokesperson Archana Khadka said all services of the ground handling, including load control, passenger and baggage handling, aircraft handling and loading, organization and management, aircraft ground movement are certified from the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO).
The ISAGO audit to be carried out every two year is given only if the airline companies comply with certain standards. The ISAGO Certificate is awarded every two years only if certain standards were fulfilled from the ISAGO Audit and inspections carried out by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in different times.
Spokesperson Khadka has termed the move as a success of the NAC.
“Amid limited infrastructures, the NAC has provided the services of international quality. The NAC is committed to ensuring better services through gradual reform in its services,” the press statement mentioned.
Ground handling service is one of the key sources of income for NAC. The NAC is providing such services in the Gautam Buddha International Airport and Tribhuvan International Airport.
Likewise, the NAC would manage the ground handling services in Pokhara Regional International Airport, which is scheduled to come into operation from January 1, 2023.
