Nepal received more than 8.2 million COVID vaccines till now

More than 8.2 million vaccines against coronavirus have been imported in Nepal out of which 8.82 million doses came through purchase and grants from different countries like India, China, and the US.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 2.5 million out of 4 million Vero Cell vaccines have been purchased from China. The rest is on the way. Similarly, China has given 1.8 million doses of vaccine to Nepal under grant provision.

Likewise, 348,000 doses of Covishield vaccine have been delivered to Nepal under the COVAX facility. Nepal has purchased 1.1 million doses from India till now. One million doses that have been purchased from Serum Institute are yet to be received.

Meanwhile, 1.534 million doses of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccines have arrived in Nepal which was provided by the US Government.
