BANKE: The Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has initiated preventive measures against the dengue fever as the city has the high chances for its outbreak.
Currently, the city has 195 cases of dengue fever out of total 348 cases from Banke district, according to the Chief of Health Division Chief of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Ram Bahadur Chand.
"A search and destroy campaign for larva and the breeding places of mosquitoes are taking place in wards of the sub-metropolitan city," Chand said.
Such a campaign is being carried out in all 23 wards of the city, he said, adding that the water pool sites, ditches and the mosquito breeding areas will be cleared and the larva will be destroyed.
Mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City Prashant Bista said that the campaign has been started from the Buspark area considering that the site could be the epicentre for the dengue fever outbreak.
