NHRC urges govt to ensure clean, healthy environment for citizens

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to create a healthy and clean environment to ensure the citizen’s constitutional right.

Issuing a press release here on Saturday, the NHRC spokesperson Dr Tikaram Bhattarai asked the government to stop arbitrary and unscientific activities happened for environmental degradation in the name of development. The NHRC statement comes on the occasion of the International Environment Day (June 5) today.

The NHRC has further stressed the need for coordination among the three-tier of the governments to implement the laws regarding the environmental protection issues and carrying out the sustainable and environment-friendly development.

The NHRCS had organized an interaction regarding the environmental issues in virtual way. The speakers and experts have opined that the environmental issues were of global concerns and all should be aware of it.
