Police in Banke district on Friday afternoon arrested four persons in possession of 12.2gm of heroin from Newroad in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-2. Among those arrested, one is a male while the three others are female. Police also seized Rs 41,500 from them.
The arrested have been identified as Rajesh Khatik (35), a resident of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis, Vibha Shahi (33), and Ganga Khadka (20), both residents of Khajura Rural Municipality-4 and Puja Pariyar, resident of Rajapur Municipality-4 in Banke district.
Joint security personnel deployed from the Banke-based District Police Office and Nepalgunj-based Narcotics Control Bureau nabbed them in possession of the substances and cash.
Meanwhile, police in Kanchanpur district on Friday evening arrested two youths in possession of 5.5gm of heroin from Bhansi in Bheemdatt Municipality-1.
The arrested have been identified as Shyam Pal (24) and Surendra Pal (19), both residents of Bedkot Municipality-9 in Kanchanpur district.
Security personnel deployed from the Mahendranagar-based Ward Police Office nabbed them with the substances during a routine vehicle check. They were riding on a motorcycle with vehicle registration number MA 1 PA 1781.
Meanwhile, Makawanpur police on Saturday morning arrested three persons in possession of 9kg of cannabis from Raksirang Rural Municipality-5.
The arrested have been identified as Hira Bahadur Moktan (47), Ram Bahadur Moktan (24), and Thakur Sunar (24), all residents of Kailash Rural Municipality-8 in Makawanpur district.
Security personnel deployed from the Chainpur-based Police Office nabbed them with the substances.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed the police.
