One-way vehicular movement has come into operation from 9:00 am today along the Butwal-Narayanghat road section of East-West Highway. The traffic was disrupted for 21 hours after diversions at Thumsi in Gaidakot were swept away by floods on Thursday morning following incessant rain that occurred since Wednesday night.
Security personnel had been continuously trying their best to ensure one-way traffic and were successful in doing so late this morning after constructing new diversions at the disrupted points, said Area Police Post Gaindakot chief Laxmi Pandey.
Pandey added that emergency and light vehicles have been prioritised for the moment. With one-way traffic in operation, the road section is witnessing declining traffic pressure of late.
