Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have jointly inaugurated the integrated check post in Nepalgunj-Rupaidiha along the Nepal-India border.

They inaugurated the check post remotely from Hyderabad House, the Office of the Indian Prime Minister. Similar check posts have been set up at various transit points in order to facilitate improved cross-border connectivity.

Similarly, on the same occasion, the foundation stone of the integrated check post to be built in Bhairahawa was also laid.

On the occasion, Indian Prime Minister Modi announced that two concrete bridges will be built at the Jhulaghat crossing connecting Baitadi to India. The only means of cross-border mobility is a suspension bridge built about two hundred years ago at the Jhulaghat transit.

An agreement has also been reached on the construction of a dry port in Dodhara Chandni Municipality, Kanchanpur. According to the agreement, India will build the dry port.

The agreement to that end was signed by Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies Madhukumar Marasini and on behalf of India by Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava.
