Political unity to save democracy: NC leader Poudel

A senior leader of the Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has said political unity is imperative to save democracy and avoid a crisis in the country.

Addressing a cadres' meeting organized by the party at Belauri, Kanchanpur on Saturday, leader Poudel expressed sympathy to the flood and landslide survivors. He drew the government's attention to launching a relief package for disaster survivors.

He conducted the onsite inspection of the areas hit hard by the flood and inundation in the district.

On a different note, he said there was no option but to hold a party general convention on the slated date. Unity within the party is essential to avoid a crisis in the party.

The senior leader also had an onsite inspection of the damages in the Mahakali river.
