The dead body of mountaineering guide Ram Bahadur Tamang, who was missing in Mt. Dhaulagiri region after a heavy snowfall seven months ago, has been brought to Kathmandu from the Dhaulagiri base camp today by a Nepal Army helicopter.
The Nepal Army Public Relations and Information Directorate said Tamang had gone missing after a blizzard occurred on 6 October last year while attempting to scale Mt. Dhaulagiri along with a Korean expedition team.
Several attempts were made for the rescue efforts since then but that did not materialise due to an unfavourable weather.
Recently, the personnel of Nepal Army and expedition guides from the Sherpa community recovered Tamang's body at an altitude of 5,000 metres.
