Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel has said that the Triveni-Dumkibas road section would be operated at any cost.
At a programme organised at Madhyabindu of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta east), Chief Minister Pokharel shared although the Chitwan National Park and UNSECO have protested it, the road section would be expanded even after adopting an alternative.
He opined that the Gandaki Province government has moved ahead in order to expand the road after constructing a tunnel or flyover.
The CM further said that he has already drawn the attention of the Prime Minister to pay attention over Triveni-Dumkibas road as Triveni-Korala road is the appropriate road linking Nepal to north and south, adding that the PM assured of resolving the problem soon.
Nawalparasi folks are compelled to go to Bardaghat of Lumbini Province to reach Triveni due to obstruction of Chitwan National Park in construction of Triveni-Dumkibas road. The track of the road was constructed in 2062 BS.
Stating that Triveni-Korala road has been put as the pride project of the Province, Chief Minister Pokharel argued that the road section would be important not only for the Province but also for the nation as it links China to India.
Out of the 23-kilometers road from Triveni to Dumkibas, eight kilometers lies inside Chitwan National Park and buffer zone.
