35 members in JSP executive committee now; 16 others removed

16 members close to Mahantha Thakur-led faction removed as per request of faction led by Upendra Yadav

The Election Commission has updated the 35-member executive committee of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP) faction led by Upendra Yadav.

The EC updated the JSP's decision of removing 16 members including Mahantha Thakur from the executive committee.

With the decision, 16 members of Thakur group have been removed from the executive committee and Thakur lost his post of Chairperson of the party,

Yadav had sent a letter to the EC asking it to update its 35-member central executive committee after EC gave legitimacy to Upendra Yadav faction on July 26.

According to the EC, the meeting of the EC held on Monday updated the JSP's decision.
