The Standing Committee meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to advance the American aid project, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), with amendment on national consensus.

Whatever has been made public in regard to the MCC, our party is of the view to not advance the American aid project without forging national consensus and amending some charters of the contract, said CPN (Maoist Centre) Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara while disclosing the party meeting decisions.

The party meeting held at party headquarters Parisdanda on Tuesday also finalized names of its leaders to be represented in the five-party coordination committee. Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha will join the committee.

It may be noted that the meeting of the ruling coalition comprising five political parties on Monday had decided to constitute an 11-member coordination committee to facilitate government operation.

It was agreed to represent two each from the Nepali Congress, Maoist Centre, CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party and Rastriya Janamorcha in the committee.

Likewise, the standing committee meeting decided to hold its national convention in Kathmandu on December 26-28. As part of the preparation of the conference, the party has intensified its drive for organization expansion.
