'Information technology friendly course should be prepared'

Former Home Minister and Member of the House of Representatives Khagraj Adhikari has said that the curriculum for the highest use of information technology should be prepared from the school level.

 He pointed out the need for time-relevant curriculum in the interaction and discussion program on information technology, importance of skills and educational transformation from Montessori to class 12 in Pokhara. Mentioning that Covid-19 has taught the transformation of education with information technology, the official stressed on the need for parents to be aware about information technology.

 Chief of Gandaki Pradesh, Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology and Social Development, Educational Planning and Science and Technology Division, Toynath Lamsal said that the education system should be changed by making teachers technology friendly. Chief of the State Education Development Directorate, Ambika Prasad Acharya, said that there was a need for change not only in secondary schools but also from lower class to campus level.

 At the program, Shanta Bahadur Gurung, Central Chairman of Institutional and Private Schools Organization (UNIPS) Nepal, and Shankaran Chatur, Director of Microsoft Partner's Sankalp World Championship in South Asian countries, said that there is no alternative but to transform the education system. The organization is running its own affairs in the country. The organization plans to expand the program to more than 65 districts next year, said Dinesh Lamichhane, executive officer of the organization
