19th Asian Games: Japan defeats Nepal 8-0

Japan defeated Nepal by 8-0 in the match held today in women's football under the 19th Asian Games, 2022 (2023).

After today's loss to Japan, Nepal has been eliminated from the group stage. This was the first time that Nepal played against Japan in women's football.

This is the second consecutive defeat of Nepal in Group D. Japan also defeated Bangladesh by the same margin of 8-0 in the first match.

Prior to this, Nepal lost to Vietnam in the first match of the group stage on Friday. Nepal lost to Vietnam by 0-2. Nepal finished in the third position in the points table ahead of Bangladesh. Japan tops the group followed by Vietnam in the second place.

Despite not qualifying further, Nepal will play the last group stage match against Bangladesh on September 28.
