Dasharathchanda Municipality-4 has entered the semifinals of the fifth edition of the Mayor's Cup Men's T20 Cricket Tournament in Dehimadu, Khalanga, Baitadi.
Khalanga edged out Dasharathchanda Municipality-3 Durga Bhawani by 97 runs to reach the semifinals. Chasing Khalanga's target of 221, Durga Bhawani were bowled out for 123 in 17.2 overs. Rabindra Nath top scored for Durga Bhawani with 37 runs. Unable to overcome the defeat, Durga Bhawani is out of the competition.
Khalanga's captain Mohit Bhandari took three wickets while Pradip Chand and Virendra Chand took two wickets each. Earlier, batting first at the Ninglasheni Stadium, Khalanga scored 220 runs in the allotted 20 overs with the help of Pradip Chand's 81 runs. Shankar Nath of Durga Bhawani took 2 wickets for the bowlers.
Pradip Chand of Khalanga was declared Man of the Match. According to coach Dipendra Bahadur Bohara, Dasharathchanda Municipality-11 Nagarjuna defeated Dasharathchanda Municipality-7 Durgasthan by 92 runs in another match.
The tournament, which has been organized by the Municipal Cricket Committee with the support of Dasharathchanda Municipality since March 9, will end on March 16. The title winner will get Rs 75,000 and the runner-up will get Rs 50,000 in cash and trophy and certificate, said Ramesh Bhatta, coordinator of the city cricket committee.
