Nepali Army wins Gold Medal

Nepal Army has won a gold medal in the 'Fifth International Pakistan Army Team Spirit Competition' held in Pakistan from March 7 to 9 this year. Overcoming various obstacles in the forest and mountains, Nepali Army was the first to complete the difficult and challenging race of 90 to 100 km in three days and two nights and win the gold medal.

 Chief Fighter Sudhir KC, Co-Commander Pawan Khatri, Deputy Fighter Anmol Prasai, Jamdar Rajkumar Saru Magar, Huddadvaya Krishna Gurung and Mankaji Tamang, Pyuth Manoj Thapa, Nikraj Gurung, Yuvin Amgain, Kapil Lama and soldier Ashok Bahadur Bam participated in the competition. This is the first time that the Nepal Army had participated in the competition.

 Prior to participating in the competition, the army had provided four weeks of training to the gross ranks selected from various battalions and corps in preparation. Troops from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and other countries participated in the competition. The professionalism, and determination of the Nepal Army have been instrumental in achieving great results in the first attempt.

 Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma presented the 'Pradhan Senapati Praise Medal' to the participating officers, medals and other ranks of the gold medal winning Nepali team in a ceremony held at the Army Headquarters Jangi Adda.

 On the occasion, Director General of Military Training Sitaram Khadka praised the Nepali military team participating in the competition for its work in enhancing the pride and prestige of Nepal and Nepalis. He said, "Nepal Army has succeeded in establishing a separate identity among the armies of other countries by presenting military professionalism with hard work and high discipline even in short preparation."
