KATHMANDU: On Thursday, Prime Minister KP Oli welcomed the members of the Nepali Women's National Football Team at his official residence in Baluwatar.
In a Facebook post sharing a photo from the meeting, he expressed, “On Laxmi Puja day, I am honored to be with the Laxmis of Nepali football.”
This meeting took place after the team's performance in the SAFF Women's Championship final, where they played against Bangladesh on Wednesday evening, concluding the match with a score of 2-1, and secured the runners-up position.
Prime Minister Oli also attended the match at Dashrath Stadium.
Despite the defeat, he commended the players for their impressive performance in a Facebook post made on Wednesday night.
