Dutta Giri, 50, of Thalara rural municipality in Bajhang used to take his agricultural products to market and bring daily essential goods via the suspension bridge until 19 November 2021.

Likewise, residents of Dangaji-1, Bajhang and Chhapali, Doti have also been using the suspension bridge to bring their home-made products to market and take essential goods home. But now they have been facing troubles after the incessant rain-triggered flood on October last year took away the suspension bridge.

The locals of Thalara rural municipality-1 now are facing trouble to supply their agro products to market after the flood swept away the suspension bridge connecting Regam and Deura market areas.

Prem Bahadur Bohora, a local of Thalara rural municipality-1, Regam shared that a temporary wooden bridge has been arranged in the place which has eased local people’s mobility lately.

As informed Thalara rural municipality has been making efforts to construct and install a new suspension bridge. Thalara Chairperson Bhuwaneswor Upadhyay said necessary process has been taken forward to channel support from province and federal governments for the bridge construction.
