Yeti Airlines celebrates 23 years of operating service

Yeti Airlines has celebrated 23 years of operating services in the aviation sector. The largest private airline company in Nepal has entered its 24th year of operating services after witnessing 23 springs.

Yeti airlines launched its first flight on September 21, 1998, to provide services to the people of remote areas of Nepal.

The airlines, along with its sister company Tara Air has been providing excellent service ever since.

Anoj Rimal, chief executive officer of the airline, said, "Yeti airlines has been transporting food, medicine, clothes and other goods to the people of the Himalayan region and Karnali, which were not connected to the transport network in the early days of its establishment. And now we are expanding its network internationally as well."

"We would like to thank Yeti Airlines and Tara Air for their courageous pilots and confident crew, skilled technicians, trained staff, diligence, hard work, honesty and trust of the partner organisations," said Rimal.

Entering the ATR era

With a journey of 23 years, Yeti has completely ended the Jetstream era and entered the ATR era. Recently, Yeti has sold five of its aircraft.

It has entered the ATR era with the goal of providing customers with comfortable and safe flights. The company has stated that it will immediately purchase more ATR aircraft and add flights to different cities of Nepal.

Launch of call center to provide flight information

Yeti Airlines has formally inaugurated the call center from today by upgrading the reservation center with the objective of providing more convenient support to their customers. With the launch of the call center, flight information can now be obtained by calling 01-5970074 and flight inquiries will not go unanswered, said Yeti Airlines.

Spokesperson of the airline and Chief of Air Security Sudarshan Bartaula said that the airline has been selected by domestic and foreign passengers due to its reasonable fares, hassle-free travel, and quality service.

"We have been providing satisfactory service to every passenger by giving special priority to the dignitaries, children and senior citizens and taking them to the destination safely," he said. Yeti Airlines is the first and only carbon neutral airline in Nepal.

 Bartaula added how it is equally sensitive and active in environmental protection.

Lukla flight tickets available from mobile apps

Yeti has so far airlifted about 100 tons of garbage from the Khumbu area including Everest through the Everest Cleanup Campaign in collaboration with various agencies under corporate social responsibility. Similarly, 272,600 saplings have been planted in different districts. The company says paper cups have been used instead of plastic cups inside the aircraft and electric vehicles have been given priority.

Yeti Airlines has made significant contributions not only in aviation and tourism but also in the field of sports (especially in cricket, football and golf).

The service rendered by adopting high security vigilance even in the face of the challenge of COVID-19 is commendable. The company said in a statement that it has managed to secure the travel of millions of passengers because of the belief that it will only succeed in maintaining its purpose and value if people manage to stay healthy and control the infection.

Till now, Yeti airlines flies to Nepalgunj, Bhadrapur, Janakpur, Pokhara, Simara, Bhairahawa and Biratnagar on five ATR aircraft, while Tara Air operates four 'twin-atar' aircraft in remote Himalayan and hilly parts of Lukla, Phaplu, Jomsom, Humla, Jumla. It has been providing services at airports like Rara, Dolpa and Wajura.
