Ram Kumar Thapa, the elected mayor of Damak Municipality in Jhapa, has announced that he will not take any service or facility from the municipality including his salary.

The Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) won the mayor post in Damak Municipality, Jhapa district in the May 13 local election

The proposal to develop the Damak Municipality into a sub-metropolis by integrating the neighbouring Kamal Rural Municipality has been rejected by RPP and CPN UML.
