The top-level officials of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) have expressed their continued support to Nepal’s tourism development.

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has discussed with World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative to Nepal ways to address the health concerns in an effort to revive the country's tourism sector, adversely affected due to COVID-19.

On the initiation of the Nepal Tourism Board in collaboration with the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), short-term jobs are to be created for 1,000 people from the tourism sector.

Nepal Tourism Board has been continuing activities to facilitate related agencies and rescue the foreign tourists stranded in Nepal.

The Mountain Cleaning Campaign 2021, coordinated by the Nepali Army has successfully concluded the halfway mark of waste collection from all six mountains including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Dhaulagiri, Pumori and Ama Dablam.

Along with the imposition of the order many foreign tourists who are travelling in different parts of Nepal have been stranded.

The number of climbers at the Everest Base Camp with COVID-19 symptoms and those who have tested positive is rising.
