President Bidya Devi Bhandari said the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) will have a vital role in the country’s prosperity.
At a programme organised in Shital Niwas today on the 70th anniversary of NCC, President Bhandari said NCC has played a leading role in the country’s economic development. “Chamber is complementing to the government’s ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ campaign. The Chamber should give special attention to make the country economically prosperous through increased industrial output,” she added.
Recalling that the Chamber has been organising different exhibitions in foreign countries to enhance Nepal’s external trade, the President urged the NCC to promote the production of domestic goods. “Promotion of domestic goods is the need of hour,” she added.
Likewise, the President thanked the NCC for extending support in time of disasters and urged the NCC to work by forging cooperation with the stakeholders.
On the occasion, Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel said that the government was ready to resolve the problems, if any, by working with the private sector adding that the country was marching towards prosperity.
He also assured to incorporate the feedback of NCC in the upcoming budget.
Also speaking at the event, NCC Chairman Rajeshkaji Shrestha expressed his readiness on behalf of NCC to bridge the gap between the government and the private sector.
Arguing that the business community has suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic, Shrestha expected relief from the government to the business sector for the latter’s excitement.
During the programme, President Bhandari feted the founding chairman, former chairmen and current chairman of NCC along with the letter of appreciation and token of love.
