The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index, which has been on a bullish trend of late, increased by 20.71 points to close at an all-time high of 2,759.21 points today. In fact, the all-time highest was achieved on Sunday (May 16) when the benchmark index closed at 2,738.29 points.
Though the country is in the midst of a crisis brought about by the coronavirus pandemic the country’s sole secondary market does not seem to have been affected by it. A total of 19,056,236 shares were traded through 101,918 transactions today. Similarly, the total turnover today stood at more than Rs 9.57 billion.
Meanwhile, the float index rose by 1.24 points to rest at 189.26 points while the sensitive expanded by 4.45 points to 492.58 points. In today’s trading besides the hotels and tourism; development bank; and manufacturing and production subgroups all the other sub-indices witnessed an increase.
