The award-winning documentary film Co-Husband has been selected to the Canadian Film Festival.
It has been officially selected for the Gateway International Film Festival in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, March 24-26. Similarly, the Signs International Film Festival in Kerala, India from 20th to 23rd February, the London Mountain Film Festival in the UK from 20th February to 5th March, and the Tatras International Film Festival in Slovakia, also director Ganesh Panday informed that the Co-Husband has been chosen.
It won the 'Best International Documentary Award' at the 8th Cobb International Film Festival held in Georgia, USA on 4-7 August.
Co-Husband, which began its voyage at Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF), won the Mount Everest Award for the best documentary at the Nepal International Film Festival with a thousand dollars. In addition, at the Nepal-Africa Film Festival in Nepal, the 'Adim Creative Award 2021', It won the 'Best Documentary Award' at the Shimla International Film Festival in India, the 'Grand Prix Award' at the Kansk International Film Festival, and the 'Honourable Mention Award' to the prestigious 29th Mountain Films International Film Festival in Poprad, Slovakia.
This 35-minute documentary film based on polyandry has been shot in Nepal's mountainous regions. As many brothers as there are in the house, the unique custom of marrying a woman still exists in certain districts of the Himalaya in Nepal. Director Panday presented the same story on screen for the first time.
Produced on behalf of Shine Media Private Limited, this documentary is produced by Sharda Gaire, Chief Assistant Director and Visual Editor Ishwor Koirala and Assistant Director Nripraj Hamal. Similarly, Ishwor Koirala, Chandraman Dongol, Abinash Lama and Radheshyam Timilsina made the film and the music was composed by Joogle Dangol.
Even before this, director Panday's documentary Bhagyale Bahekaharu (Nepal Earthquake: Heroes, Survivors and Miracles) won a dozen international awards as well.
