A team led by box office coordinator Raj Katuwal will monitor the cinema halls across the country including Kathmandu.

"We have exercised the right to close the hall if the revenue has been misappropriated, the film has been illegally aired and the box office has not been connected," Katuwal said.

The Board officials, the Home Ministry and the Revenue Department representatives will also participate in the monitoring committee led by Katuwal. "Our main objective is to make the system run by the government smooth," Katuwal said.

"Our research will focus on whether a cinema hall has sent data well. We will try to understand the difference between the data sent by the hall and the actual data of the hall," he said.

He further added that complaints have been lodged with Big Movie, BSR Movie and FQB Cinemas for action after complaints of running night shows without the consent of the board. He also said that no data has been received from Baneshwor and Kalimati halls of Van Cinemas.

Some halls in Kathmandu had started night shows of 'KGF-2' from 3 pm.
