Film artist Sanu Tamrakar has passed away. He was 74.
He breathed his last at 3:20 pm at Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu on Saturday, said Mohan Niraula, President of the Film Artist Association of Nepal.
Sanu is the father of film artist Sharuk Tamrakar who committed suicide over one and a half months ago. His health was deteriorating after the death of his son Sharuk, the family sources said. He is saddened by the death of Sharuk, Niraula further said.
“He (Sanu) who was receiving treatment for the past 24 days is no longer with us. Preparations are underway to perform his last rites at the Pashupati Aryaghat on Sunday morning.”
Sanu has performed in many Nepali films including ‘Mero Mamu’, ‘Bhuin Manchhe’, ‘Glamour’, and ‘Pal’, among others. He is survived by wife Rukmani Tamrakar. ---
