In Pictures: Vitamin A campaign for children

Ishowri Thapa has been working as a health volunteer for 26 years. Opening up about her experience as a health volunteer, she talked about all the changes. Thapa says, “At the present, comparatively there are more centers which have made it easier for the locals to get vaccination and immunization.”

 As there is a Vitamin A and deworming campaign going around all over the nation, she explains, “The campaign started from 10 am and will end at 4 pm. But usually, most of the children come in the evening, so we have to extend immunization drive till 5-5:30 pm."

With three health volunteers working in the center at Loktantrik Chowk, Tarkeshwor they are providing around 400 vitamin capsules and deworming medicine in the center.

“Our department has provided notice on television, and also on social media, so it is easier for people to find the center. While this place is not easy to find, we have been doing this campaign for many years now, so people are aware of the place,” Thapa explains.
