Teku Hospital to give free emergency services

Emergency services at Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital, Teku will be free. The service has been provided free of cost following the directive of Health and Population Minister Virodh Khatiwada.

The campaign is being launched from Teku in the first phase with the aim of providing free health care from all government hospitals as well as mentioning the right of citizens to access health facilities in the constitution of Nepal.

The Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital, Teku, has been implementing this provision since November 6 to ensure the right to health of the people considering the possible risks posed by the third wave of coronavirus.

The Ministry will assist in the necessary facilitation and management for this. On behalf of the hospital, Director Dr. Manisha Rawal has written a letter on November 29 informing about the necessary assistance and services. Arrangements have been made for free examination and treatment of patients coming to the emergency department of the hospital within the last 24 hours.

According to the secretariat of Minister Khatiwada, the free blood test, X-ray, ECG, ticket, and other facilities will be provided within 24 hours.

"Along with this arrangement, the people will get the guarantee of a people-oriented government and the health-related policies and programs of the government of Nepal will also be implemented," said Shanti Bidari, Press Adviser to Minister Khatiwada.

He said that initiatives are being taken to implement such arrangements in other government hospitals in the coming days.
