KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been taken to the government attorney's office in Kathmandu for a statement.
Lamichhane, who has been in the custody of Kathmandu Police since Friday, was taken to the government attorney's office today for the remaining statement.
Lamichhane's statement was taken for about 6 and a half hours on Friday on charges of embezzling funds from Kalimati's Swarna Laxmi Cooperative.
He was taken to the government attorney's office today as his statement could not be completed on Friday. Lamichhane was brought to Kathmandu from Pokhara on Thursday.
680 people have filed a complaint claiming a loss of Rs 1.118 billion in the SwarnaLaxmi Cooperative fraud case. There are 24 defendants in it. Among them, Chhabi, Ravi, Ramtel, Sunita Newah and Kamal Lama have been arrested.
Rabi was arrested from Kathmandu on October 16 in the case of cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering.
