20 succumb to COVID-19 in Chitwan hospitals in 24 hours

A total of 20 people receiving treatment at different hospitals in Chitwan died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Six persons were from Chitwan while others were from neighbouring districts.

District Health Office Chitwan informed that seven persons died at Bharatpur Hospital, five at Chitwan Medical College, five at Old Medical College, and three at BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital.

It is the highest number of fatalities that occurred in the district in 24 hours.

Earlier, 18 persons had died in a day some days back. The people from Makawanpur, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Tanahun, Dhading, Gorkha, Kathmandu, Arghakhanchi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi, Pyuthan, Nuwakot and others visit Chitwan hospitals for treatments.

Public Health Officer at district office, Gitanjali Dhakal, informed that currently, 521 persons suffering COVID-19 were getting treatment in Chitwan and among them, 260 were receiving ICU treatment.

Similarly, 59 are provided treatment at HFNC, 96 at HDU and 165 at isolations. 

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry reported 246 deaths which is the highest daily number.
