The population at risk has been determined by estimating the different degrees of landslide risk, the District Disaster Management Committee said.

The Committee has also prepared the 'Monsoon Emergency Action Plan- 2021' with the beginning of the monsoon. According to this Action Plan, most parts of the district will be affected by landslide.

It is stated that 3,400 to 4,000 houses will likely suffer damage due to the landslide and mudslide in the district. Community schools are also at risk. It is stated that 20 community school buildings face possible risk from landslide.

The action plan has been prepared for facilitating the post-monsoon disaster response, rehabilitation and relief works.

Chief District Officer Shiva Kumar Karki said disaster management related works are being carried out at all the levels. He said the Committee has also directed all the stakeholders at the local units to be prepared in disaster risk reduction, management and mitigation, taking the Action Plan as the guideline.
