The Nepal Writers' Association Kaski chapter organized a seminar on the occasion of the 109th BP birth anniversary where the speakers reminded us that BP's foreign policy was balanced.
The speakers further said BP's thoughts are equally relevant and exemplary at present.
Presenting a working paper at the event, associate Professor Bhim Nath Baral said the political leaders except BP Koirala failed to maintain a balanced foreign policy. The leaders after BP could not make clear Nepal's stand and presence in neighbouring and international communities, he argued. BP had the stature to put forth his firm stand before Nehru and Mao.
"BP's stature in the small country Nepal is an extraordinary matter," he reminded, adding that BP's foreign policy remained assertive whether it was during agitation or in exile.
Similarly, another associate Professor Padma Sharan Regmi viewed BP had a tremendous role to maintain Nepal's image august in contemporary politics.
Analyst Bishwo Sigdel expressed worry about why Nepalis were not adhering to the BP's principles. He further said BP's writing on politics and literature is grand and unrivalled till now.
Political leaders such as Kishor Datt Baral and Saraswati Gurung and literary persons such as Sanjiv Poudel, Rita Adhikari and Kamal Poudel also expressed their views on the programme.
