Chaurjahari Municipality launches free ambulance, city bus services targeting different groups in Rukum West

The Chaurjahari Municipality in Rukum West has implemented free ambulance and city bus services targeting different sections of society.

Conflict survivors, expectant mothers, new mothers, and senior citizens are among the beneficiaries of the free bus and ambulance services that are in effect since the current fiscal year. The local government announced to provide such kinds of services to different groups in its policies and programmes for the current fiscal year.

The services are for the people of special conditions and their families, the Municipality said. Presently, the Municipality operates three city buses and two ambulances for the convenience of people from the abovementioned sections of life. As Mayor Bishal Sharma said, they are preparing to procure two more city buses to make the service more accessible for the target groups.

Pregnant, people above 70 years of age, those injured during the armed conflict and the people’s movements, people with disabilities, and families of martyrs are the beneficiaries of the services. Similarly, fully incapacitated, severely incapacitated and people possessing the identity card of the indigent community are entitled to the facilities, the local government said.
