Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Uma Regmi has said arrangements would be made for administering vaccines against COVID-19 to children at the earliest.

Talking to journalists here today, she said the government was at work regarding making arrangements for administering vaccines to children above five years.

"Trial of the vaccine is being carried out abroad. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be brought to Nepal as well after the trials are successful," the Minister said, adding that the government will bring the vaccines as soon as possible.

Stating that all citizens should be aware to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection further, Minister Regmi said those who have not taken the vaccines should be extra cautious.

She also shared on the occasion that the Ministry has already started formulating plans for the welfare of women, children, and senior citizens.

On a different topic, Minister Regmi said it was not good to pull the judiciary into controversy. "The conflict seen in the Supreme Court should be resolved. It is not good to bring the judiciary into controversy," she warned.

Similarly, Nepal had received 100,620 doses of Pfizer vaccine from the United States government on October 25. The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) informed that the Pfizer vaccine will be administered to people around the age of 12–18 and chronic disease patients.

The government has also signed for the purchase of 6,000,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines for children below 18 years of age.

Meanwhile, the US-based Food and Drug Administration has also paved way for Pfizer COVID-19 vaccinations in young kids.
