China donates 1.6m COVID vaccines

China has handed over 1.6 million doses of COVID vaccines to Nepal today. With this, Nepal has received a total of 3.4 million doses of COVID vaccines from China.

Nepal is yet to receive three lakhs doses of COVID vaccines through the people liberation army.

A total of 10 million doses have already arrived in Nepal through a bilateral procurement process. Out of 5.9 million COVID vaccines, Nepal has received 1.2 million COVID vaccines through COVAX Cost Sharing procured with the investment from Asian Development Bank. The remaining vaccines are yet to arrive.

Similarly, Nepal has submitted a request to procure more Vero Cell vaccines via COVAX cost-sharing.
