There has been a delay in the construction of the motorable bridge connecting Baitadi's Patan market. The motorable bridge connecting Patan-Sakar Kailpal, which is being built on Surnaya river, has become a problem due to non-construction on time.

Bridge construction on Surnaya River started in 2071. An agreement was made with the construction company to complete the construction of the fifty meter long bridge in two years. Even after eight years, the construction of the bridge has not been completed. Residents of Dasili, Ladauli, Sakar, Badulasau, Pokhari, Ganda, Kimtoli and Ullaka are facing problems due to non-construction of the bridge for a long time. Locals allege that the bridge could not be built on time due to the contractor's negligence.

With the onset of rains, the road is blocked after the water flow increases in Surnaya. As the flow of water in the river increases, the road connecting Sakar Kailpal to Patan is blocked. During the rainy season, there is a problem in Patan municipality and local market and transportation of food. Madanmohan Bisht, owner of SK Construction Services, said that there was a delay in the construction of the bridge due to confusion over whether the state government would build it or the federal government after federalism.

Bista said that 70 percent of the bridge, which is being built at a cost of Rs 29 million, has been completed so far. In the last time, the contract period was extended at the end of June 2080. Bista claims that the bridge will be built by January 2079.
