The flooded Karnali river has swept away a under constructed bridge connecting Surkhet and Kailali. According to the province police, the flood swept away the bridge along with the construction materials in Chimle, Chaukuney rular municipality-10 of Surkhet district on Tuesday.
Anak Construction Pvt Ltd was incharge of the construction, gravel mixer machine was swept away by the flood, informed police. A crane had also came under the flood's effect.
Acting on a tipoff, police personnel in the leadership of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police(ASI) Manoj Kumar Shahi, four police personnel from the District police office's temporary Police post, Ghatgaun rushed to the flooded site.
20 house holds have been moved from the river sides due to high risk. After the Karnali river flooded then Province Police Office, a temporary police post was made 4 km away from the office. The Karnali highway has also been effected in many places, informed the police.
