Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Pampha Bhusal urged the people's representatives to serve the public while also undertaking the preservation and promotion of local identities.
At a programme organized here today to congratulate the newly elected people's representatives of Mahalaxmi Municipality-6, Minister Bhusal said, "People's representatives are not rulers, they are instead servants. Be diligent to meet the basic needs of the people."
Appealing to pay attention to the conservation of arts, culture, and identities, Bhusal asserted that development works should be taken forward by promoting their own traditional identities.
She viewed that programmes should be devised and implemented from ward to municipality level for tourism promotion, stating that tourism was the basis for the economic development of Mahalaxmi town.
The Minister argued that the local people's representatives should pay attention to health and education and underscored enhancing education quality in community schools and making healthcare services accessible and affordable for the public.
Echoing Minister Bhusal, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Sashi Shrestha suggested the newly elected representatives take forward development works fulfilling the needs of the people.
Likewise, Janata Samajwadi Party's leader Nawaraj Subedi suggested the people's representatives identify the needs of the public and implement programmes accordingly.
Similarly, newly elected ward chairperson Dharma Maharjan extended his gratitude to the people for electing him to the post and pledged to address the expectations of the people.
