Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha have informed that Nepal has adopted a policy to encourage, promote and protect foreign investment by improving the investment system.
Addressing the opening session of the 19th West China International Fair held in Chhendu, Sichuan Province, China today, Home Minister Shrestha said, "In view of foreign direct investment, Nepal has adopted a trade and investment friendly policy, invest."
Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha said, "Foreign companies registered in Nepal can purchase, own and sell land. There is no discrimination between domestic and foreign investment. There is no policy to nationalize private industry either. Assuring that the recently reformed laws will make a significant contribution to business promotion, he informed that a policy has been taken to provide low-cost manpower by reforming the labor laws.
He also called upon the foreign industrialists who came to participate in the conference as well as China to take advantage of the investment opportunities in Nepal.
