KATHMANDU: The second qualifier of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) is scheduled for today (Thursday).
In this match, Karnali Yaks, the winner of the eliminator, will take on Janakpur Bolts, the loser of the first qualifier, in what promises to be an exciting contest.
This qualifier serves as the last opportunity for both teams—Karnali Yaks and Janakpur—to remain in the title race and secure a place in the final.
Sudurpaschim Royals, who won the first qualifier, are already waiting to face the winner of today’s match in the final.
The match will take place at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur at 12:30 pm on Thursday.
For Janakpur, this second qualifier is crucial. After their loss to Sudurpaschim in the first qualifier, Janakpur still has a chance to fight for the title, but only if they can overcome Karnali Yaks in this match.
Janakpur has faced tough challenges against Sudurpaschim. In the first qualifier, Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Janakpur by 8 wickets.
Janakpur, who batted first after winning the toss, set a target of 140 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Sudurpaschim comfortably chased down the target in just 18.3 overs, losing only 2 wickets. In their earlier league-stage encounter, Sudurpaschim had triumphed by 72 runs.
