Kawasoti Municipality of Nawalparasi East laid foundation stones for the buildings of 11 basic health service centres on Thursday.
All service centres are planned completion within this fiscal year.
Ward No 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 16 will have new buildings for the health service. However, the service centres had already been operative throughout the municipality.
Municipality Mayor Chandra Kumari Pun informed that the construction of buildings would further manage the health service. Earlier, six wards had already got the building for service centres.
The structures are being raised as per the government plan to have basic health office and health workers at every ward.
Similarly, Deputy Mayor Premshankar Mardaniya Tharu observed that it would be a huge achievement to ensure basic health service centre at each ward. The facilities would ensure convenience to the service seekers, he said, adding that they would face no more hassle to get basic health service.
Architect engineer at municipality, Pawan Rupakheti, said construction of each building costs some Rs 3.8 million. Contracts for these were made to complete within this fiscal year.
