Garbage collected from tourist site in Sindhupalchowk

As high as 500 kilograms of waste has been managed by conducting a cleanup campaign in the touristic site Panch Pokhari in Sindhupalchowk district. 

The waste materials were classified based on their categorization, degradable and non-biodegradable, and were brought up to the Bhotang area with the help of porters, Harka Tamang, a campaigner involved in the cleanup said. 

The cleanup campaign of Panch Pokhari of Thangpal Rural Municipality was started on Tuesday with support from Nepal Tourism Board, New Vision Nepal, Also Nepal, and TG H Nepal.  

Panch Pokhari is one of the most sought-after destinations in Nepal and was enlisted in the site to visit in Visit Nepal Year 2022, Chairman of Thangpal Rural Municipality Tasi Lama said. 

Lama said that the cleanup campaign was conducted to protect the environment of the site adding that  plastic bags, bottles, and other wastes by the pilgrims and visitors had piled up there.
